CONFIRMATION

The Confirmation program is a wonderful opportunity for youth to grow in faith, ask questions, and develop relationships with other youth and adults in the congregation. Youth then have the opportunity to publicly say yes to their faith as they affirm their baptisms on Confirmation Sunday.

Youth can begin this process when they are in 7th grade or wait if they need more time. There are two school years of classes. The fall of the third school year, when most are in 9th grade, the students work on a faith statement and prepare to affirm their baptisms on Confirmation Sunday and Reformation Sunday, the last Sunday of October.

The Confirmation process involves regular attendance at classes and youth group (most Wednesdays during the school year at 7pm) and participation in Wednesday Lent soup suppers and worship services. Youth are also expected to do fifteen or more service hours, take worship notes on Sunday mornings, and complete a faith statement project. Parental involvement in them Confirmation process is critical. Being actively involved is an important way that parents can keep baptismal promises to their children.
