WHAT’S THE CHURCH SERVICE LIKE?
Each of our services offers something different!

  • Saturday Service (5:00p)
Our Saturday service is a quiet contemplative service.  It follows the traditional Lutheran liturgy found in the Evangelical Lutheran Worship.  Communion is served every week and the service runs about 45 minutes.
  • Sunday Festive Service (9:30a)
This service is intended to be a bit more contemporary than the other services. Once a month, the children’s choir from Sunday School participates in the service. On other Sundays, the Senior Choir joins in leading the service. Communion is served every Sunday. Sunday school is offered during this church service for children in grades PreK – 5th Grade.  This service runs about 1 hour.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE?
As a welcoming congregation, we want you to feel comfortable in this space.  We do not have a formal dress code – people come in everything from jeans to your Sunday best!

WHAT’S THE MUSIC LIKE?
During the church service, both liturgical and hymn music will be played on either a grand piano or pipe organ. The Senior Choir performs a variety of music – from traditional church music to swinging gospels.  We’ve even experienced a full cantata or two in place of a regular service. When the Children’s Choir performs, they are typically accompanied by a piano or CD recording.  Don’t be surprised to see a few actions with their songs!  Our musicians are incredibly talented and enjoy sharing their gifts with the congregation.

DO YOU HAVE A NURSERY?
We have a nursery located on the main level of the church.  It is staffed during services on Sunday mornings from September through May. During the summer months, there are no staff – but the room is available for families to use. There are also soft toys available for children in the church service – ask anyone at the usher stand.

PARKING
We have a large parking lot available on the west side of the building.  Please enter from 4th Street.

Communion

All baptized Christians who believe that Jesus Christ is truly present through the bread and wine are invited to share in Holy Communion.  Holy Communion is served either by intinction or at the altar rail.

For intinction, you will be ushered down the center aisle.  When you reach the front, you will first be offered a wafer and then the option of dipping it into the first cup (red wine) or the second cup (white grape juice).  You can then eat the bread and wine, together: Christ’s body and blood given and shed for you.

When being served at the altar rail, follow the direction of the ushers as you come forward.  The option of grape juice is offered during communion.  The center ring of each tray is filled with white grape juice.

Currently, communion is served in a hybrid style between intinction and at the rail.  When you reach the front, you will be offered a wafer and then you will select your wine/grape juice cup from the tray yourself.

If you would like the elements brought to you, where you are seated, please notify an usher or pastor before the service.  Gluten-free wafers are available upon request at the Pastor’s station.
